Workshop Sessions Titles/Descriptions
Bill Stevens presents Christian Education: Embracing the Big Picture ... As a new teacher in a Christian school, you may have questions and/or viewpoints about the role and the environment you are entering. This workshop isn’t a lecture, but an interactive conversation about the various perspectives people have (including yours!) regarding Christian school education and what makes a Christian school, Christian.
Dr. Sandy Outlar presents Refreshing Lives While Staying Refreshed: “He who refreshes will be refreshed.” Proverbs 11:25
Being a teacher can easily add up to a 24/7 position. A new teacher can be hit with so many things... lesson plans, extra duties, and parental communications are just a few of the many issues that can face a “newbie”. Whether one is single or married with a family, redeeming the time and doing so with a degree of physical rest is critical. It is essential that teachers care for their soul, body, and mind.
This seminar will address how to balance one’s personal and professional lives. Best practices will be shared for getting the school year off to a good start and how to prepare spiritually and physically to stay emotionally and mentally healthy.
Dr. David Hegedus presents Biblical Worldview Integration
How does biblical integration factor into daily lesson activities? What does authentic biblical integration look like in the classroom and why is it critical? This session will address the premise that Christian educators are called to biblically integrate the student learning culture and to grow the students’ biblical worldview. Practical models of biblical integration will be presented and discussed.
