Provides overall leadership of Crossroads Christian Academy, a preschool to Grade 8 day school of approximately 125 students, to ensure that the mission, vision and values of the organization are fulfilled. Responsible for organizational development, academic excellence, spiritual strength and financial stability of the school. The Head of School reports to the Lead Pastor of South Ridge Community Church and the Crossroads Christian Academy Leadership Team (CCA-LT).
Personal and Professional Development: Pursues personal spiritual growth and applies truths and principles of Scripture in all aspects of personal and professional life. Supports and adheres to the school’s Statement of Faith and standards of behavior. Promotes and assists spiritual development of staff, students and parents through programs, curriculum, mentoring and personal example.
Pursues professional development and keeps up to date in academic research, issues and opportunities for strategy and technology advancement. Keeps abreast of standards, guidelines and regulations required to maintain certification with appropriate institutions and regulatory bodies.
Academic Leadership: Ensures a strong academic, Bible-based foundation for Crossroads Christian Academy. Approves and evaluates school curriculum, continually assesses areas of need and improvement. Organizes and executes an effective plan for recruiting, hiring, assigning and developing of faculty and staff. Conducts formal evaluations of faculty and staff (including classroom observation), establishes performance goals, and implements plans for performance improvement.
Organizational and Operational Leadership: Promotes and maintains the vision of Christian education to parents, faculty, staff and others.
Leads planning, implementation and evaluation of marketing, development, enrollment, academic, financial and operational goals and strategies to strive for excellence, consistent with the mission and vision. Identifies, communicates and participates in finding solutions for academic, personnel and technology issues.
Supervises day-to-day academic operations of the school, including staff and student discipline and communication with parents. Conducts regular faculty and staff meetings, and periodic meetings with parents and students to foster effective communication and involvement.
Provides oversight of the operational budget and budget planning and ensures sound financial management practices. Develops and ensures effectiveness of fundraising and financial development initiatives.
Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be able to articulate a personal testimony of faith. Must support and adhere to the school’s Statement of Faith and be willing to become a member of South Ridge Community Church. Bachelor’s Degree in education or educational administration from an accredited and recognized institution. Experience in educational field, including classroom and administrative roles. Proven success with strategic planning and organizational development in a school setting. Ability to effectively lead, direct and inspire faculty and staff while building positive relationships with faculty, staff, students, parents, church and local community. Ability to deal decisively with complex issues while maintaining a compassionate spirit and firm resolve with sensitivity to the needs of the school and its various stakeholders. Excellent written and verbal communications.

The Board of Trustees of The Christian Academy is prayerfully seeking the person God has been preparing to be our next Head of School. The Christian Academy (TCA) is one of the finest Christ-centered schools in southeastern Pennsylvania. Our Mission is to partner with Christian parents to equip students through a classical education with the necessary skills to pursue excellence through Christ in every area of life. TCA is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and School as well as a member of the Association of Christian Schools International. With students in Kindergarten through 12th grade and a current enrollment of over 310 students, TCA is located southwest of Philadelphia in the heart of Delaware County. The Head of School is responsible for managing all operations of the school. This team works as a cohesive unit to achieve institutional goals. As a team, together with the Board of Trustees, they develop a strategic plan that sets the path for the school into the future. In addition, the successful candidate, together with the administrative team, will lead the school in developing innovative ways to serve the local church and community. The HOS works to orchestrate all areas of the school to provide an environment where all 55+ faculty and staff, together with over 300 students, can learn and grow academically and in their walk with Christ.
The Head of School leads institutional efforts in development and promotion including fundraising and student recruitment, while working diligently to energize donors to accomplish annual fund and capital project goals. The Head of School enlists and empowers supporters via parent groups, alumni association, and booster clubs.
